A unique, sensorial, and transformative workshop, contemporary dance merges with a personal and visceral vision of pizzica and the power of live music.
It is born from the encounter of three deeply embodied languages:
• 𝗠𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀, international contemporary choreographer, who explores the union between technique, improvisation, and self-discovery;
• 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶, dancer who reinterprets pizzica in a raw, instinctive, and vibrant way, turning it into a present experience;
• 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼, musician who transforms sound into breath, impulse, and acoustic body.

This program consists of 3 workshops scheduled throughout the 2026 academic year. Participants will have the opportunity to earn a certificate of participation in a technical program designed by Mimmo Miccolis, the esteemed Teacher and Choreographer of The Washington Ballet
The workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience the distinctive style of Mimmo Miccolis, who seamlessly blends contemporary dance elements with classical technique. Participants will engage in a series of energetic and dynamic exercises that challenge their physical limits while allowing them to explore the joy of movement in space. This fun and vibrant class encourages dancers to use movement as a means of exploration and expression, emphasizing tempo, musicality, physicality, and emotional depth. Designed specifically for online lessons, the workshop ensures an engaging and immersive experience for all participants.

SPRING SEMINAR 2026 -VANCOUVER

The Vancouver Ballet Society
The Spring Seminar is a week-long workshop for dance students aged 11-18 yrs, held at the Scotiabank Dance Centre, 677 Davie Street in Vancouver. This year, we welcome Mimmo Miccolis from Washington Ballet as the contemporary teacher and Claudia De Smet, a freelance Balletmaster in close collaboration with Angelin Preljocaj as the ballet teacher. Auditions are required.
For one week during March break, the VBS brings in accomplished teachers from Canada and abroad to lead the dance intensive, culminating in a presentation of both intermediate and advanced levels. Students spend half the day in ballet classes and the other half of the day in contemporary classes, coming together for lunch time presentations and meetings.
At the end of the week long intensive, the students present a performance in the Faris Theatre. The guest faculty select students who will be awarded scholarships, which they receive at the performance. Each year through fundraising efforts, approximately $15,000 are awarded to young dancers from British Columbia. The VBS has been doing this for the past 20 years.

ADC|IBC is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3), Youth International Scholarship Ballet Competition for all nationalities, ages 9-21, that was formed in 2005. Over the last decade, the organization has developed into a leader in its field with an ever growing network that helps connect and facilitate the progress of professional training. The event serves as an annual meeting ground for dancers, teachers, directors, choreographers, professionals, dance media, vendors and dance lovers. With more than $250,000 in scholarship funds being awarded each year through the collaborative efforts of our Scholarship Partners, we are able to carry out our NON PROFIT MISSION to place students into professional training programs.
Exciting New Opportunity ADC IBC – Youth International Ballet Competition 2026. At the completion of Round 1 evaluations, a set amount of students will be selected to perform in Mimmo Miccolis’ contemporary work in the final Gala. There will be approximately 2 rehearsals per day for this piece, which will build on choreography explored from first round. Additional details to be found on the ADC-IBC daily schedules.

Our company dancers will be in daily training from 17:15 to 18:30. During the final 15 minutes, the doors open to the public. You are warmly invited to observe our dancers in their daily class — a unique glimpse into their preparation and artistry.
18:45 – Doors Close
For security and to ensure the studio performances proceed undisturbed, the doors will close. Only students or guests with the door code may enter after this time.
19:00 – Performance Begins
Enjoy new creations by Gaetano Vestris Terrana (Ballet Master/Choreographer of BCB) and Mimmo Miccolis (former Choreographer at The Washington Ballet), as well as the enchanting Flower Waltz from The Nutcracker, choreographed by Aki Nishio.
Between performances, join us for an interview and Q&A session with the choreographers, dancers, and artistic director. You’ll also have the chance to participate in fun games alongside our dancers and fellow guests 🌸

A Journey of Cultural Exchange Through Dance – OKLAHOMA CITY BALLET II

TIDES.OF.TIME is a choreographic work that explores the concept of cultural exchange and collaboration. Inspired by the historic Silk Road, this performance highlights the beauty and power of coming together to create something unique across diverse communities.
Featuring a fusion of music from Turkey, Italy, Oklahoma, and other regions, TIDES.OF.TIME emphasizes themes of cooperation and shared human experiences. Central to the narrative is the figure of the Mother, a
dancer who represents the understanding of embracing differences and nurturing a future where cultures can coexist harmoniously. The performance combines movement, music, and storytelling to reflect on the significance of cultural exchange and the importance of building connections between various communities
