Caterina Vannucci is a professional violinist with 22 years of experience in symphony orchestra, opera, chamber music and violin education. After a Bachelor Degree in violin she specialized at the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana “Professore D’Orchestra” and continued with many other courses with some of the best Italian maestri.
Violin member at A Musical Heart a not for profit organization who’s mission is to create a sustainable corps of professional musicians who are trained to provide live music for those nearing the end of their life and to serve them in this sacred time. Collaborations with the Takoma Ensemble, the Washington Ballet and other organizations. Private violin lessons. While part of symphony and chamber orchestras she devoted also to teaching violin and music education, supporting conservatory students for their exams as well as young children, giving private violin lessons as well as propaedeutics group lessons.An important moment in her career was her collaboration with choreographer Mimmo Miccolis starting in 2014. It was the choreographer’s choice to include a violinist on stage and these works:
- GROWTH in “An Evening for Humanity” 2014 at Millennium Stage at Kennedy Center and for a private event at the Residence of the Italian Ambassador.
- ICONS in 2016 for the European Union Open House at the Italian Embassy.
- WHO WHEN WHY in 2017 at the Smithsonian American Art Museum- Kogod Courtyard.
- FIRSTS in 2018 for the European Union Open House at the Italian Embassy.
