HEROICA is a bold, cinematic dance work that feels like a film starting at the end. It traces a journey through memory, identity, and freedom, moving between sorrow, joy, and rebellion. The choreography intertwines the evocative power of Italian opera, from Verdi to Claudia Muzio, with the daring energy of contemporary music, including Måneskin, creating a bridge between past and present.
At the center of the piece is a diva, performed by Matteo Mangialetti of The Divas in Drag – Italian Opera Company, whose presence channels strength, vulnerability, and resilience. The live violin of Caterina Vannucci adds depth and heartbeat to every moment.

From a haunting solo to explosive ensemble moments, the piece moves through intimacy, solidarity, and communal celebration, culminating in a powerful, radical embrace.
