President John F. Kennedy said, “If not us, who? If not now, when?” Choreographer Mimmo Miccolis explores a third question- “why?” WHO WHEN WHY focuses on why Kennedy’s quotes are important today while highlighting the former President’s ideas of freedom, courage, service and gratitude.


World Premiere: WHO WHEN WHY

A Work Inspired by John F. Kennedy with Live Music

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Ballet (TWB) presents the World Premiere of WHO WHEN WHY, a work by choreographer Mimmo Miccolis featuring an original composition written by Francesco Germini and performed by Caterina Vannucci. The work will be performed by Company dancers Francesca Dugarte, Jonathan Jordan, Tamás Krizsa and Maki Onuki. Costumes are designed by The Washington Ballet Wardrobe Supervisor, Monica Leland.

WHO WHEN WHY has been performed as part of America Now, an annual series collaboration hosted by the National Portrait Gallery, National Museum of American History and Smithsonian American Art Museum that celebrates the depth and breadth of America’s history, art and culture.
