A contemporary duet by Mimmo Miccolis
2025 | Brussels City Ballet | Brussels, Belgium
What remains when words are no longer enough?
UNSPOKEN explores the fragile space between words and silence, where emotions remain unexpressed, thoughts are held back, and the fear of being misunderstood creates invisible distances between people.
Through the encounter of two bodies, the choreography investigates the tension between the desire to communicate and the difficulty of revealing what we truly feel.
Movement becomes an instinctive language, shaped by breath, listening, hesitation, and physical connection. Moments of vulnerability and resistance unfold as the dancers navigate the delicate boundaries between isolation and intimacy, distance and trust.
Rather than offering a narrative with fixed answers, UNSPOKEN invites the audience to recognize the emotions that often exist beyond language — those we struggle to express, yet deeply need to share.
Created for Brussels City Ballet, UNSPOKEN marks Mimmo Miccolis’ first choreographic creation in Belgium, continuing his exploration of human relationships and the emotional complexity of contemporary life.
